Safe Step (Retractable Staircase)

Tri Line Services approached End Effect with one goal in mind: taking their already successful, wooden attic staircase design, and making it commercially manufacturable, shipping friendly, and easy for buyers to assemble themselves without a shop’s worth of tools.

We started by reviewing the current design and working with the client to develop what the ideal shipping footprint, aesthetics, and assembly process would be. From there, we went to work redesigning the product into a sectional format, verifying the new design’s strength with FEA analysis. The client went on to prototype and test the design, reporting back that it was successful and met all of their marks and requirements. Since then, the Safe Step Stairs has been a huge success, with more than a million dollars of sales sold across North America and even some sold in England.
